On 9/11 I was in my artist studio in central Istanbul. There was a suicide bomber in Taksim Square which shook my windows. The following day I watched "9/11" unfold on TV via CNN, CNBC, BBC, cable channels etc. I had been to the top of the WTC in 1998.
The first thing I clearly recall was the reporter who had just inspected the hole in Pennsylvania and described it as something like 20 x 30ft with very little in the way of debris in it Perhaps he said 30 x 30ft or a similar figure, but I recall thinking it was not a big hole. I drove through Locherbie in 1988 and we stopped to look at the immense scar left by the Locherbie bomb aeroplane incident. By comparison, I concluded that whatever had created the hole in Pennsylvania, it was not an aeroplane.
During the live transmission sounds of explosions were frequently reported from the WTC location and I remember thinking the attackers had not only directed planes into the towers, but had apparently set off bombs nearer ground level.
I could go on and on. To cut to the chase I do not believe the official story of 9/11. I do not know who was responsible or how it was precisely executed, but the official story appears disturbingly inaccurate.
Currently the BBC here in the UK are spending the week commemorating 9/11 with endless emotional recollections related to that day, all propping up the official version of events. It is sickening; let alone those who died that day, what of the thousands and perhaps millions who have died since due to the on-going war against 'terrorism'?
When will the authorities properly investigate 9/11? When will the general public wake up and demand government representatives conduct a proper and full enquiry? Of course, even my expressing my doubts makes me vulnerable to criticism and being labelled a 'conspiracy theorist'.
Even if the official story is accurate, we have given in hook, line and sinker to the 'terrorists' by relinquishing a wide range of liberties and freedoms; the general populous has submitted to fear.If the general public cannot even properly analyse and question 9/11, what value can I give any of their views in general?
I was born in 1963 when JFK was killed by more than just one man. The 1979 reopening concluded it was a conspiracy above and beyond Lee Harvey Oswald, yet still the prevailing general view is to accept the original inaccurate official account.
The most important thing is to generate love and peace and not descend into a mind set of war, hate and fear.
